  • Parking Update 2016

    Mon 19 Sep 2016

    Parking Update – 19th September 2016

We are continuing to have local residents complain about the way parents are parking around the three gates during drop off and pick up times.

As a school we are constantly trying to ensure that children can be dropped off and picked up from school safely.

    • School starts at 8am (breakfast club) so spreading the times children arrive at school.
    • Doors to school open at 8.40am, allowing children to trickle into school.
    • After school we run numerous clubs, meaning a number of children do not leave school until 4.30pm.
    • Timberley Tea Club is available for parents until 5.30, again meaning children are picked up at different time.
    • We have contacted the local police to ask for support with parking issues and incidents of dangerous parking.
    • The Senior Leadership Team and often stood on the gates after school asking parents to park more considerately and monitoring the issues.
    • Please contact Alan Porter 0121 675 9612 and Birmingham City Council who will log any issues and work with school and the police to try and alleviate parking issues.
    • We contacted Councillor John Cotton who came to school this evening to look at the issues school, parents and the local residents are facing.  Councillor Cotton is going to speak to Highways and other relevant departments at school and plans to make another visit during pick up time.

  • Health and Safety

    Mon 12 Sep 2016

    Dear Parents

Please ensure that your children are not climbing on the fences around school as the safety of the children is very important.  Please do not allow you children to play on the adventure playground, the pirate ship on the key stage 1 playground or the train on the reception playground before or after school.  School cannot be held responsible for any injuries children sustain if they are climbing or playing on school play equipment.

    Thank you

    Miss Rose

  • Parking Outside School

    Mon 12 Sep 2016

    Dear Parents

We have been receiving phone calls from residents in the local area who have raised concerns about parking during pick up and drop off times.  Parents are blocking drives and parking on the grass which will eventually be churned up.  As a school the children’s safety is paramount and with the current parking we are concerned that a child will be hurt. Please ensure you park considerately, making sure you are not on the grass or blocking the drives of the local residents.

    Kind Regards

    M Rose

  • Stay and Play

    Wed 07 Sep 2016

    Dear Parents

Stay and Play have moved into a lovely new room which used to be the reception temporary classroom.  As this room is smaller spaces are now limited to 15 children per day.  If you would like to come to Stay and Play, the cost is £1 a session, please contact Mrs Walker through the school office.

If there are enough people wanting to join Stay and Play there is the possibility of increasing the number of days it is open.

These arrangements are for this accademic year because the temporary classroom is being removed in the summer.

  • Welcome Back!

    Wed 07 Sep 2016

    Dear Parents

Most of the building work in school is finished!  All three gates into school are now open for you to use.  If you use Timberley Lane gate the path now takes you through the farm into the entrance by the pond because the staff car park should not be accessed by pedestrians.  Our fantastic new main entrance to school is also open and children wanting to go to breakfast club will use this door.

At the start of the school day year 3 and 4 will use the new entrance by the sports hall which you get to from the junior playground.  Year 5 and 6 children will enter through their usual door from the junior playground. The children will leave school through the same doors at the end of the day.

Reception, year 1 and year 2 children are now all in school and the temporary classrooms have been removed.  Year 1 and Reception children will come into school from the field side of school, straight into their classrooms.  Children will be collected from the same doors at the end of the day.

Year 2 will come into school through the double blue doors next to the infant hall.  Year 2 will leave school from either the double blue doors or the infant hall at the end of the day.

Nursery arrangements will stay the same as they always have done.

The leadership team will be on duty to help everyone find where they need to go.  Please be patient with us as we have every child moving class and new arrangements in place.  Should you have any concerns please contact myself through the school office.
