Year 2's VERY WET residential to Peckwood.
This week some of the children in year 2 were very lucky to go on an overnight residential to Peckwood. The children were all very excited for this great experience. We set off from school and arrived at Peckwood at around 10am. The children had a look around and set up their beds. During the morning we went on a nature walk around the site and collected some evidence to make collages with later in the morning. The children were also given booklets to complete and identify different types of plants and insects. During the afternoon, the children worked in groups on a number of different activities including team building, singing, story telling, preparing their evening meal, games and lots more. The constant rain made it difficult for us complete some of the activities we had planned for the children, however this did not phase them at all and they got on with it in true Timberley style. The children enjoyed their evening meal which they helped to prepare and set up for themselves. They also enjoyed hot chocolate and marshmallows before bedtime. The children snuggled down and after a 'little' chat were all sound asleep. In the morning the children got up, had their breakfast, tidied up and packed away their things for the trip back to school. The children all thoroughly enjoyed this experience and were a real credit. Well done to everyone.
