PE at Timberley Academy

At Timberley we enjoy Physical Education and School Sports!

All of our year groups have two hours of timetabled PE each week, including time in our Sports Hall, outside on our Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) or even out on our field.

We are currently following THE PE HUB curriculum for Years 1 through to Year 6 and the SPORT XPLORERS curriculum for our Nursery and reception classes.

Active Playtimes

At playtimes all of our classes have Active bags with different pieces of play and sports equipment.

Throughout the year there will be more games, activities and challenges for pupils to do at playtimes.

Our pupils also have the chance to use the MUGA at playtimes.

Spark Active

We also work very closely with Spark Active who help us with all aspects of PE and sport.

This year we will:

Compete against other schools in competitions throughout the year.

Participate in workshops that Spark Active will deliver.

Engage in personal challenges and competitions.

Please have a look at the competitions that Spark Active are offering on their website.

Then in the Summer term we are going to have a go at competing in our very own Olympic games, with each class competing against each other to see which class can be crowned champions. More information to follow...
