Easter

We have made some delicious Easter nests in Nursery today. We mixed melted chocolate and shredded wheat together then added 3 mini eggs on top. They were scrumptious!

Workshop

It was so nice to have so many parents in Nursery for our workshop today - it's been a very long 3 years!  As it is World Nursery Rhyme Week, we sang some nursery rhymes, then coloured in and made some nursery rhyme stick puppets to take home. We had a lovely time!

Poppies

In Nursery we have been learning about poppies and know that we wear a poppy to remember those who have fought in wars. We have read a story, A Day to Remember by Beth Eastham and Karl Eastham and on Friday 11th we will watch a story on Cbeebies to commemorate Armistice Day.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wOT5CDnYHEs. Diwali party!

Today we have had our Diwali party. We decorated Nursery with lots of fairy lights and streamers. We lit our diva lamps and ate pakoras, onion bhajis and samosas. We also had sweets called gulab jamun which were delicious and did some celebration Diwali dancing.  We have all had a super time!

Diwali

We have made diva lamps to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. This year it is celebrated on Monday, 24th October and people celebrate by cleaning their houses, making rangoli patterns and buying new clothes. We made our lamps by rolling a ball of clay, making a hole in the middle with our thumbs, adding a candle  then decorating them with sequins. They look beautiful!

Autumn!

We have made a lovely Autumn display using the leaves and acorns we collected in the park and on our way to Nursery. We coloured in a squirrel picture then used leaves to make a big, busy tail. We think they look fantastic!
