Early Years Pupil Premium

What is Early Years Pupil Premium?

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP) is additional Government funding to help raise attainment for eligible 3 and 4 year old children.

The DfE believes that this initiative has the potential to make a big difference to the attainment of children. Nursery receives this additional funding to ensure that children are ready to succeed at school, have excellent foundations for learning and are equipped well for achievement in life, no matter what their background.

At Timberley, we will review annually, at the start of each academic year, to meet the needs of the new Nursery cohort. The Deputy Head Teacher (accountable for EYFS) regulary monitors and reviews children's progress to ensure that the interventions we put in place for EYPP spending will result in improvements in both attainment and achievement for eligible pupils. A member of the Trust board has lead responsibility of Early Years Pupil Premium to challenge effectiveness and appropriateness of different interventions.

This is an initiative for children whose parents/carers meet one of the following criteria:

  • Income support
  • Income-based jobseekers’ allowance
  • Income-related employment and support allowance
  • Support under Part IV of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
  • The guaranteed element of state pension credit
  • Child tax credit, provided that you are not also entitled to working tax credit and have an annual gross income of £16,190 or less
  • Working Tax Credit Run-on (this is paid 4 weeks after they stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit)

If you feel, that you meet one of the criteria above, you will need to complete an online application form.
