First there was the big bang! Then life began on Earth 3.8 billion years ago. But when did humans arrive and where did we come from? If we can find out the answer to these questions perhaps we can figure out where we are heading in the future…

In this topic we will be looking at evolution, D.N.A and adaptation.

Whilst learning about the different eras in evolution, the children have identified the importance of plants in order for animals to survive. In this lesson the children have been identifying the different elements of a plant in order to understand how they have survived and reproduced. We have used real plants to see how the different parts look in flowers - it made our classroom smell lovely!

We have been transported back into dig through the work of the year 6 archaeologists! They have uncovered different types of fossils and hidden Mayan treasures. See if you can spot your archaeologist working hard...
