Barvember 2018
For the month of November children have been enjoying solving maths problems for Barvember.
Barvember encourages everyone to use the bar model as a useful tool for helping children visualise and then solve maths problems. Even some of the most complex problems can be seen much easier when represented visually.

INSPIRE
Thank you to all the parents, carers, family and friends who came to our inspire workshops. It was nice to see all of you having so much fun doing our science activities (apologies if it got a bit messy).
World Book Day!
It was lovely to see so many children in school today dressed as their favourite character. The children particularly enjoyed walking the catwalk. Well done to Declan (5M) Michaela (5B) and Lauren B (5S) for winning a prize for their costume.
Science Fair
Astronaut Trip
Year 5 had a great time meeting astronaut, Steve Swanson from America. The children had the opportunity to ask him questions and were fascinated by his experiences in space.
Bishops Wood
Year 5 have had a fantastic time being minibeast hunters and exploring habitats in the meadow, woodlands and pond at Bishops Wood. They have enjoyed using scientific equipment to measure the air temperature, soil temperature, soil moisture and light intensity. The Great Crested Newt was definitely a favourite amongst both the children and staff.
Miss Rose's Fun Day
The children had a lovely time spending their day making their own slime with Sublime Science and having a blast on the inflatables and in the adventure playground. Thank you Miss Rose.
