To celebrate Mr Griffiths winning the PSTT Science Teacher of the Year award, members of the PSTT came in to deliver a chemistry assembly to year 3 & 4. It was a fabulous assembly with lots of chemical reactions and loud bangs!
SCIENCE FAIR 2018
The children have been working hard on their science fair entries, ready for next week (Monday 5th March) as this is when they need to be in school for.
The science fair 2018 rules are as follows:
- The children must present their entry all on their own (so no paired presenting this year)
- Anyone can help with the project (in fact it is encouraged to get help from home)
- It must be presented on a cardboard panel, decorated how you wish
- The final rule is HAVE FUN!
Adults are welcome to come and see the science fair entries on the following dates, from 2:30 p.m.
Wednesday 7th March - Reception, Year 1 & Year 2
Thursday 8th March - Year 3 & Year 4
Friday 9th March - Year 5 & Year 6
Good luck to everyone entering!
Some year 5 children were taken on a very exciting morning. They went with Mr Griffiths and Mr Walker to meet a real astronaut. Michael Foale has been in to space five times. We listened to all of his experiences in space and what it is like to live on The International Space Station. We all had a wonderful time!
Dr Jenny Watson came in after school, this term, to train year 5. The evening included a talk on space, lots of excellent information and even some astronaut training activities. It was a real success with over 50 people attending. Many thanks to all that came and we look forward to our next family learning night.
