Welcome to a new school year in Year 2. The children have settled well into their new classes and we are all really proud of how hard they are working.

Homework will be sent out weekly (usually on a Friday) please can you encourage your child to complete the homework set and return it by the following Friday. Sometimes we will send a few pieces at a time but we will usually give your child a little longer to complete these. It is important that children complete their homework and return it to school if it is not returned then children will be asked to complete it during the school day.

We have provided all year 2 children with a new home reading diary and all children should have a reading book. We recommend that children read for 10 minutes each night. If your child needs their reading book changed then please sign their diary and they can put their book in the red book box to be changed. Children should have their reading books in school every day as we have a timetabled independent reading slot in Year 2.

Most children have now chosen a library book. Our library slot is on a Wednesday afternoon, every other week, so please make sure your child has their library book with them.
