Timberley staff raise £1419.65 for the MUGA pitch appeal.

On the Wednesday 29th May the team set off from Timberley for Scotland, on the start of their attempt to climb Ben Nevis, Scarfell Pike and Snowdon. At 5pm on 30th May the 10 strong team started the 24 hour challenge from the Ben Nevis visitors centre in Fort William, the target was to complete the climb by 10pm. It was dark before the last of the team completed the extremely tough walk which tested everyone’s strength and resolve, especially crossing the heavy snow fields leading toward the fantastic peak of Ben Nevis and it's magnificent views. 2 hours behind schedule we left Scotland for the Lake District and after a long and uncomfortable  drive through the night arrived at the base of Scarfell. The effort so far had taken its toll, 8 of the team started the climb at 6.15am and only 6 finished. At 1pm, and over 4 hours behind schedule, the last of the team completed Scarfell Pike. With injuries, a 4 hour drive to Snowdon and the probability of not getting home until early Saturday morning the majority of the team decided to call off the attempt. It was big disappointment not to complete the challenge however there was much satisfaction in climbing Ben Nevis and it was an acheivement that will be long remembered.  A special thanks to Mrs Bevington who did all the driving and provided fantastic support for the team,  her effort was invaluable.
