The school has been classed as Good in its last  OFSTED report. It is a three form standalone Academy  that offers excellent educational opportunities to the pupils in the local area. We aim to maintain and develop the school tradition of providing the highest quality of education and support, and to encourage our students to have confidence in themselves and a sense of self-worth, along with looking to develop within the student a sense of responsibility and service to the school and the community.

The academy is also a fully accessible mainstream school to 25 children with physical difficulties.



Teaching Assistant Vacancy

Non-Teaching Application to be completed

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic practitioner to work in key stage 2, in the first instance.

Experience of foundation, key stage 1 and 2 is desirable.


The successful applicatant will:

  • Be educated to NVQ level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
  • Be qualified to GCSE level in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Be creative and have the ability to engage and stimulate children, in the classroom and during play.
  • Be committed to raising standards.
  • Have high expectations of pupils' attainment and behaviour.
  • Be flexible and able to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Have an understanding of safeguarding and follow the school's safeguarding policy

The position is for a December 2017 start.

Assistant SENCO

We are looking to appoint a new member of our SEN department.

Experience of KS1 and KS2 pupils with special educational needs is desirable.

The role involves working with the Inclusion Managers, SENCO and Assistant SENCO to support children with SEN to have equal access to educational opportunities at Timberley Academy.

You will assist with leading and managing the provision of special educational need, learning to support high quality learning, teaching and behaviour, effective use of resources, high standards of achievement and progress of all students.


Please submit an expression of interest in writing to the Principal.

Interviews will consist of a five minute presentation on 'The role of the Assistant SENCO', with questions to follow.

Cleaner Vacancy Available x2

We are looking for two people to join our cleaning team.

£8.11 per hour, 10 hours a week.

Lunchtime Play Leader

Non-Teaching Application to be completed

Will have responsibility for organising lunchtime activities for children.

Term time only

£8.11 per hour

1 hour 45minutes working hours, a day.


All successful applicants for any job, will need to complete an Enhanced DBS check. Which is a requirement for working in school. References and a clear DBS will be required prior to starting the role.
