Timberley Tots Nursery 2 (3yrs-4yrs)

SUNFLOWER COMPETITION RESULTS!!

Mr Griffiths has been round all the classes in school, carefully measuring the sunflowers to judge whose is the tallest. The two tallest ones were Butterflies and ours! It was very, very close - ours were 151cm tall and Butterflies were 152cm! While we are disappointed we didn't win, it was very close and we are proud of our sunflowers. We all say WELL DONE & CONGRATULATIONS to Butterflies on their green fingers and we'll be back next year!smiley

Our sunflowers keep on

      Growing!

We are giving our sunflowers lots of care and love and they are growing so fast! They seem bigger each day!

Outdoor Learning

We had a super time exploring our Forest School area. We were on a Minibeast Hunt and used our magnifying glasses to help us find plants and tiny creatures that might be hard to see. We had a super time!

Sunflower Update!

Our sunflowers are growing really well, the mixture of warm sun and rain has meant that they are shooting up! We have repotted them into larger pots so they can keep on growing! Fingers crossed we win the competition!

Farm Visit

To finish our Jubilee celebrations, we all went out to the school farm. We saw sheep, goats, chickens, geese, pigs and alpacas. We had a lovely time!

Jubilee Celebrations!!

Nursery had a fantastic time at our Jubilee party! We had our photographs taken with the Queen then had a lovely street party with lots of yummy food!

Sunflower Competition!

Mr Griffiths has given every class in school 5 sunflower seeds to see who can grow the tallest sunflower. The sunflowers will be judged and measured just before we break up for the summer holidays in July and the class that has grown the biggest one wins a trophy! We have planted ours, 2 pots for AM Nursery and 2 pots for PM Nursery. No sign of any shoots yet but keep checking!!

Our sunflowers - will we win?

Story Sacks

Please watch the video below that will give you all the information you need about our fabulous Story Sacks!

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask a member of the Nursery team. Thanks you.

Sensory Room/Calm Corner

Nursery 2 have a brand new Sensory Room/Calm Corner! It's a lovely, quiet, relaxing space that children can use when they need a little break from our busy Nursery. We are very proud of it and the children love it!

Science week

As part of our topic of growth last week, we planted some cress seeds. We all made the initial letter of our name out of cotton wool, then sprinkled cress seeds on the top. We watered them every day and they grew so fast! By Monday, it had grown so much, we were able to cut it and have cress sandwiches after story time. They were delicious!!

World Book Day

We all had a fantastic time in Nursery on World Book Day. We dressed in our pyjamas and comfy clothes and read lots of stories. Lots of us brought our favourite books from home and shared them with our friends. We were able to act out some of our favourite stories like We're going on a Bear Hunt and Monkey Puzzle. We had 2 new reading areas too where we could share books! After all that excitement we had biscuits, squash and some Pom Bears too! Have a look at our photographs to see some of the fun we had.

World Book Day fun!

Welcome to Nursery! smiley

After our first full week in Nursery, it has been lovely to see all the children settle in so well and begin to make friends. Some of you are old friends and some of you are new, but we are sure we will all have a super year!

Just a few notes to give you some Nursery information.

P.E:

The children will be having P.E each Wednesday. They do not have to wear their uniform on Wednesdays but should come to school wearing shorts or joggers, T-shirt, fleece and trainers.

Rainy days:

Hopefully we won't have too many rainy days but if your child wears wellies on their way to school, they will need to bring shoes or trainers to change into.

Spare clothes:

It is always a good idea to send your child into Nursery with some spare clothes in case they get wet or dirty. We have limited spare clothes but some children will always prefer wearing their own. Please make sure your child's name is in their jumpers/cardigans so they can be returned to the right person.

Attendance:

We believe good attendance is essential if children are to be settled and take full advantage of the learning and development opportunities available to them whilst at nursery. At a young age, continuity and consistency are important contributors to a child’s well-being and progress. Regular and punctual attendance is paramount so that all children have full access to the curriculum. Valuable learning time is lost when children are persistently absent or late.
