Watch out...Icky Doo Dah's about!
This week Year 3 INCREDIBLY lucky to have had a visit from the talented author and illustrator Simon Murray.
Simon Murray is well known for his amazing illustrations and brilliant stories in the Icky Doo Dah series of books.
Simon talked us through designing a frame for a picture of Icky Doo Dah, thinking carefully about what illustrations to add and ways to add in shapes to 'hide' all the images. Then we had a step by step master-class in how to draw Icky himself. Our pictures were amazing and Simon taught us to forget about using a rubber and turn a mistake into a different design.
We will now use our pictures as a base for a comic strip about Icky Doo Dah and the mischief he causes when he escapes at Timberley!
Simon also very kindly donated copies of several of his books for us to read in class and to offer as a prize for the best comic strip! Thank you
