After being inspired to start our new quest for the 'Health for Life' Award, some of Year 3 tried our hand at pickling beetroots!
Firstly, we had to quarter our beetroots before we boiled them until they were soft.
After they cooled down we peeled off the skin and put them into sterilised jars.
We then poured the brine into the jars and sealed them with their lids.
Finally we stuck on our labels ready to be sold at the summer fayre!
