Year 3 & 4 Football

Well done to all the children who took part in the football tournament on Wednesday 7th November.

We took two teams, one from year 3 and one from year 4.  All the children played extremely well and other teachers that were there commented on how good our two teams played.

Year 3 played in a really tough group, where all the opposition were in year 4!  They won their first game 1-0 with Evan scoring.  In the second game, Jake kept us at 0-0 by pulling off at least 10 amazing saves!  However, we did end up losing 1-0.  In the final game we were completely outplayed and lost 3-0.

The year 4 team faired better.  We played some amazing football and scored some incredible goals.  We won 1-0, 3-0, 4-0 and 4-1 to win our group.  We qualified for the semi-final to play Lyndon Green and we blew them away 4-0 with Rio scoring a fantastic hat-trick and Mason scoring our 4th with the last kick of the game.  We came up against Hillstone in the final and they scored 2 goals in the first 45 seconds which we struggled to recover from.  Another goal shortly after really dented the confidence of the children, but they kept on playing and had several chances which we were unlucky to score from.  So we finished 2nd for the second year running.

Well done to all the children again, I look forward to our next tournament!
